Utility Scale Solar Parks
The ever so fast growing need for grid connected energy is increasing the need for mega solar parks ranging from 10 to several 100 of megawatt. The modularity in the Stirling dish technology makes such a massive park far less complicated and less risky than other CSP technologies. The reason is that every unit is autonomous making the rollout less complicated and risky. To roll out 100 megawatt is not more complicated than 1 megawatt; it just takes a bit more recourses. Should one unit malfunction and need service, you still have all the rest of the park unaffected and productive. The modular implementation is also a benefit in large solar parks due to the fact that you can have operating systems as they are set up and do not have to wait until the completion of the entire park. The modularity in combination with non-existing water consumption for power production, possibility to use uneven land and superior power output efficiency are the main advantages of using Stirling dish units for mega solar parks.
Power Production Cost at Grid Parity
Already at modest production volumes, Cleanergy can produce electricity at a cost per produced kWh, the relevant metric, at cost levels below utility scale PV installations. At industrialized Stirling manufacturing volumes, not taking into account future product enhancements, Cleanergy has through detailed assessment confirmed that production of climate neutral electricity can be made at grid parity, a major milestone reaffirming the viability of renewable energy on a stand-alone basis.
